What is Tequila made off?
Tequila is made from the agave or maguey plant.
Is Tequila and Mescal the same?
Yes. But mezcal isn't always tequila. There are hundreds of
varieties of mezcal plants.
However, tequila can only be made from the Blue Agave, grown in specified
regions of Jalisco.
What does "añejo" mean?
Añejo means aged, tequila that has been aged in oak barrels.
How can you tell if you are getting
authentic Mexican tequila?
The production of authentic Tequila can only be made in five
regions in Mexico, and those bottles have a NOM (Norma Oficial Mexicana)
plus a Number imprinted on the bottle.
For example Mi Tierra Tequila has a (NOM 1473) as well as all the bottles
currently imported by Astorga & Navar Distribution Company.
